Devon Great Consols Mine

  • Consolidation of important mining heritage buildings, structures and landscape features
  • Development of recreational trails to give access to the heritage
  • Creation of challenging mountain bike course
  • Dealing with site safety issues

Morwellham Quay

  • Extensive improvements, including new education and interpretation facilities
  • Stabilisation work to the historic quays including repair and rebuild of main quay timbering, removal of silt, repair of erosion, clearance of vegetation
  • Construction of landing stage, moorings and a jetty
  • New access trails
  • Wildlife habitat and landscape enhancements Newquay
  • Conserving buildings and quays
  • New access and interpretation
  • Invasive species control and management

Gawton Mine

  • Emergency repairs to buildings on this important mine to prevent further deterioration
  • A new and safe access route to the site
  • Habitat improvement work

Russell Mine

  • New access to the heritage landscapes along the former Devon Great Consols Mineral Railway
  • Work to make the sites safe
  • Drainage, surfacing, fencing and waymarking

Bedford United Mine

  • New pedestrian bridge over River Tamar
  • Creation of main public gateway site to the Project
  • Work on wildlife habitats, especially
  • Greater Horseshoe Bats

Tavistock Canal

  • Much needed repairs to the walls and to stop leaks
  • Installation of new lock gate - this will make the canal navigable for canoes and other small craft
  • Upgrading towpath for disabled access between Tavistock and Lumburn

Tavistock-Bere Alston Railway Line

  • New access trail along some of the route
  • Mine hazards assessment and remediation
  • Drainage, surfacing, fencing and landscaping
  • Link Project to key national cycle routes

Tavistock Town Centre

  • New gateway centre in town centre
  • Interpretation and orientation material in car parks and the bus station
  • Improvements to public transport network to allow more easy access into the Project area
  • Improvements to provide new access links along the Tavistock Canal and redundant Tavistock to Bere Alston Railway line
